Stirling Moss

Stirling Moss, a Formula 1 race car driver, was born on September 17, 1929 in London, England.

He was a pioneer in the F1 racing scene and is still regarded as one of the greatest drivers of all time. Over his career, Stirling Moss won 194 of 466 career races and 16 Formula One events but never won the season championship.

In 1958 his gentlemanly conduct saw him lose the Championship to Mike Hawthorn despite winning four F1 races to Hawthorn's one.

One of his most famous drives was in the 1955 Mille Miglia[?], an Italian 1000-mile open-road endurance race, which he won in record time. His co-driver was a journalist, Denis Jenkinson, who wrote extensively about the experience.
