Malta is a village located in Morgan County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 696.
Geography
Malta is located at 39°39'2" North, 81°51'52" West (39.650509, -81.864421)1. It is on the west side of the Muskingum River, opposite McConnelsville, Ohio.According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.9 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 8.82% water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 696 people, 283 households, and 198 families residing in the village. The population density is 866.9/km² (2,241.1/mi²). There are 318 housing units at an average density of 396.1/km² (1,023.9/mi²).
