Aldrich Ames (born 1941) is a former Central Intelligence Agency agent who was caught spying for the Soviet Union.
On February 22, 1994 Ames and his wife were charged by the United States Department of Justice with spying for the Soviet Union. They were later convicted; Ames received a sentence of life imprisonment and his wife received a 5-year prison sentence.
